Bevianne
Fitch Bevianne Fitch is a retired schoolteacher
who became a meditation student in 1971 and has continued to practise
since then. She has dived into many forms of meditation practice, and
in 1995 took training with Ian Gawler in teaching group meditation.
She has taught meditation classes and led meditation groups at Wesley
for several years.
Kathryn
McCallum is an environmental journalist, who has written articles
for Australian Geographic and The Age and produced radio features for
the ABC. She has assisted top scientific experts with writing for the
popular media. She is a former Australian rowing champion, and in 2003
she walked 700 kilometres solo along the Australian Alps Walking Track.
She is mother of two young boys. Kathryn is president of the Geelong
Sustainability Group, focused on local climate action. Kathryn was chosen
to train with Al Gore, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former US Vice-President,
in September 2007, as part of The Climate Project – Al Gore’s
Climate Change Leadership Program.
Sue
Murrant is a psychologist and counsellor with the Wesley Centre
for Life Enrichment Counselling Service, with experience in family services.
She co-facilitates the Bereavement Support group with Karin
Shepherd.
Ross
Pearce is a lay preacher in the Uniting Church who has had
a long experience in theatre in and around Geelong.
Greg
Roberts is a social worker, and is one
of the counsellors with the Wesley Centre for Life Enrichment. He co-facilitates
the After Suicide program, and is the facilitator for the Loss and Grief
program, as well as co-facilitating the Relationship Enrichment program
with Kathy Thomas.
Karin
Shepherd is a family therapist and counsellor with the Wesley
Centre for Life Enrichment, specialising in family, relationship, adolescent,
substance abuse and personal development. She co-facilitates the Bereavement
Support group with Sue Murrant.
Rev
Paul Stephens is the Director of the Wesley Centre for Life
Enrichment, and also a minister of the Geelong City Parish of the Uniting
Church. He co-facilitates the After Suicide support group on the 3rd
Tuesday of each month with Greg Roberts, and, with
Meg Wardlaw, co-facilitates the Marriage Preparation
course which runs once a term.
Kathy
Thomas is a psychologist, and is one of the counsellors with
the Wesley Centre for Life Enrichment. athy co-facilitates the Relationship
Enrichment program along with Greg Roberts.
Meg
Wardlaw is a counsellor in private practice who co-facilitates
the Marriage Preparation course with Paul Stephens.
Joan
Wright Howie is the Spiritual Formation Advisor with the Uniting
Church's Centre for Theology and Ministry in Parkville, and has a specific
focus in developing the spiritual formation life of the church. Joan
is a Uniting Church minister and Spiritual Director. Amidst bringing
three children into the world, she has been in congregational ministry
at Burwood and Fitzroy Uniting Churches, worked as coordinator of the
Synod Lacuna project, and offered supply ministry in several Melbourne
congregations. Joan is currently candidate for a Master's degree in
Spiritual Direction and is working on a thesis entitled The embodied
experience of Grace as maternal embrace. Body theology and bibliodrama
are interests that Joan is developing.
